My Pet Needs and Operation

The surgery team at Veterinary Associates is one of the most experienced in the country.

Dr Eckhard Stalmann BVSc joined our team after a one year surgical internship at Veterinary Specialist Group in Auckland, where he was exposed to all the latest techniques. Our team is capable of performing many complicated and advanced procedures that most vets would refer to a specialist. We can do these procedures at very significant savings to you.

If you pet needs an operation our vets will discuss the various options available to you. Please feel free to ask any questions and request any information you might need.

Routine Surgeries & Your Pet

Drop your pet off at 8am and collect your pet the same day. We always try to make contact with you after the operation has been done to let you know how your pet is and to arrange a collection time.

Please don’t feed you pet after 8pm the night before the operation. Our vet will give you instructions on how to care for your pet after the operation. Any extra information and medications will be provided.

Once the decision has been made to proceed we ask you to sign a form exactly like you would if you were having the operation yourself. This simply confirms that you have given permission for an anaesthetic and the procedure as well as all the associated treatments. Fees and payment thereof are also in writing. In advanced surgical cases we always offer the option of referral to registered specialist.
